About the Slime

Q: I LOVE this slime, how do I get more of it?

A: We specialize in unique, small batch slimes, so there are only a few of each kind available. You can try checking the store and see if we have any more of your favorite. If not, visit the store often, because we may make one that’s similar, and we may decide to remake a favorite one again for a change, too! In fact, if you let us know about a favorite slime, we’ll definitely consider remaking it or adding a similar one for you.

Q: What sizes of slime do you sell?

A: We currently sell our slime only in 4 oz. jars at a reasonable price so you can get more variety per package by choosing multiple slimes for less money at a low shipping cost ($8 for up to 4 slimes!)

Q: Will I be allergic to your slime?

A: The short answer is that we don’t know, though no one we know has had any reaction. The long answer is that our slime uses standard slime ingredients (primarily some combination of Elmer’s glue, well-diluted laundry borax, contact lens solution, unscented shaving cream, unscented baby lotion, unscented baby oil, instant snow, baking soda, food-grade glycerin, food-grade food coloring, daiso clay, acrylic paint, baby powder, mica powder, glitter, bath-and-body safe fragrance oils, fimo clay slices, and a variety of plastic charms and add-ins). If you are allergic to any of these ingredients, you may have a reaction to our slime. If you need more specific details about ingredients in a particular slime, feel free to contact us.

Q: How old should I be to play with slime?

A: In general, we recommend slime be for tweens and older, though younger kids can enjoy it with supervision. Slime can be played with very safely and can provide hours of great, sensory fun. 

Q: Is the slime edible? Do you use Borax?

A: Nope, no way, no how, nope. While most of the ingredients in our slime are non-toxic, it does contain some diluted borax, either from 20 Mule Team Borax Laundry Booster or contact lens solution, which contains a borate buffer, so for safety reasons, you should definitely not eat the slime. In addition, we recommend washing your hands before (to keep it nice and clean) and after (to keep YOU nice and clean) playing with slime.

Q: What do I do if my slime is too sticky or too hard?

A: We include some extra borax powder (included with your order) to make activator and instructions for fixing your slime with every package. Our website has  full instructions for fixing your slime. 

Q: I left my slime without the lid on and it’s dried out on top. Is there anything I can do?

A: If it hasn’t been too long and just the top layer is dried out, you might be able to mix in a little bit of hand lotion (we like Johnson & Johnson baby lotion) starting with about a pea-sized amount and letting it sit in its closed jar for a few hours. If that doesn't work, you may be able to peel off that top layer and still play with the part underneath. If that doesn’t work, it’s too late, sorry!

Q: How do I make the activator that came with my slime? 

A: Mix about half of the packet of activator with one cup (8 oz.) of warm water, stirring well until it’s dissolved. Then add it to your slime one or two drops at a time, working it well into your slime and letting it sit for a little bit after mixing it in, to give it a little time to work. BE CAREFUL not to add too much or your slime will get hard and rubbery and be no fun at all.

Q: How long will my slime last?

Q: What if I get slime on my carpet, clothes, bed, whatever?

A: We usually use rubbing alcohol to clean up any slime that gets away. Our website has our full instructions for cleaning up slime spills. 

Q: Will you send me your slime recipes?

A: Well, most slimes are made with a combination of standard ingredients and hundreds of recipes are available on the internet for you to try. What makes each slime shop’s slime special is which ingredients they choose, how much of each they add, and how they’re mixed. Plus, of course, every slime designer’s special style and scent choices! TL;DR - nope, we won’t share our exact recipes with you (except some you can follow along with on YouTube and Instagram) , but hope you’ll enjoy ours as some inspiration and come up with some special slimes of your own! 

About My Order and Shipping

Q: How long does it take to process orders?

A: Because we ONLY sell slime that’s freshly made (within a day or two of shipping) and ready to send to you, we normally process orders the same or next business day after receiving them. 

Q: How long will it take my slime to get here?

A: From the time you order, the average slime package will take about 4 business days to get to you. Depending on your distance from our shipping location in Pittsburgh, PA, it may be a little more or less. 

Q: Can I get a tracking number for my order?

A: Yes, all orders ship USPS Priority Mail with tracking. You’ll receive a tracking number by email or text when we process your order. If for some reason that message doesn’t get through, feel free to contact us and we’ll send you your tracking number. 

Q: How much is shipping?

A: We want to get plenty of slime to you as quickly as possible, so we can ship up to 4 slimes for just $8 in the US.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

A: We accept all major credit cards plus PayPal, Google Pay, and Apple Pay. If you are desperate for slime but are unable to use one of those payment methods, please contact us and we can work out details to use a money order, too.

Q: How do I know my payment information is secure?

A: Our payments are processed through the Shopify gateway, and is encrypted and transferred in accordance with industry standards. Full details of how we and Shopify keep your information safe can be found in our Privacy Policy.

Q: What comes in my order?

A: We’ll send you lots of good stuff in your order. It will include:

  • Your slime (of course!)
  • A special, free gift from us as a thank you for ordering
  • A packet of activator you can use if your slime gets sticky
  • Instructions on safely playing with and cleaning up your slime
  • A personal discount code for your next order

Q: What if my shipping address is incorrect?

A: Because our shipping is automated, we cannot edit shipping addresses -- packages are shipped to the address EXACTLY as you enter it. We are not responsible for any packages lost, missing, or mis-delivered in any way due to an addressing error. IF you notice you made a mistake before your order has been shipped, we can cancel your order and you can re-order it with a correct address. 

Q: Can I cancel my order?

A: We know everyone makes mistakes, so we’re happy to cancel your order if it has not yet shipped (usually within 24 hours of your order). If we have already shipped your order, you may refuse the package at delivery (unopened) or ship it back to us yourself (also unopened). Upon receiving it, we will refund the cost of the slime (but not the cost of the shipping either direction)

Q: What if my slime order is lost or stolen?

A: We’re sorry, but we cannot be held liable for lost or stolen packages. Any such delivery problems should be reported to your local postmaster.

Q: What do I do if my slime arrives damaged or broken? 

A: We package all of our slime very carefully to ensure it arrives to you safely. If it has been damaged in transit, please send us photos of the damage as soon as possible after receiving it and we’ll work together for a fair solution for everyone.

Q: Do you ship internationally?

A: We currently only ship in the domestic US, but may start shipping to other parts of the world in the near future.

Q: Do you accept refunds?

A: Yes, under certain circumstances. Please see our Refunds and Returns Policy for details.

Q: When do you restock new slimes?

A: Because we only make small batches of unique slimes, we don’t usually restock particular slimes. We do, however, try to make new slimes available at least once a week.

Q: Do you do orders for special events or bulk orders?

A: Again, because we only make small batches, we don’t normally do bulk orders of any kind. If you have a specific need, please feel free to contact us and we can consider what you need. 

Q: Do you have Social Media accounts?

Q: Can I do a review of your slime?

A: We love our slime and we think you will, too. Of course, you can review us. Make sure to tag us (#pearljellyfishofficial) and we’ll enjoy watching!

Q: Do you offer free giveaway slimes or have contests?

A: Yes, we occasionally have special giveaways and contests - keep an eye on the website and our YouTube and Instagram accounts to know when they’re happening.

Q: Do you offer discounts for large purchases?

A: We do offer a 10% discount on orders of 12 slimes or more. 

Q: Do you have discount codes or sales?

A: Whenever you order from us, you’ll get a personal discount code to use on your next order. And yes, we do have some special sales during the year, especially around major holidays. 

Q: Can you make me a custom slime?

A: Sorry, no, we don’t normally make custom slimes, but we love your suggestions and do sometimes make some slimes based on them.

Q: Can I buy slime supplies from you?

A: Not yet, but we’re planning to soon branch out by adding some special supplies to our slime store. Keep watching the website and our YouTube and Instagram to see when they’re available.
